Dear All Non-Chinese Speaking Students,
We are conducting a survey to investigate the impact of generative AI on Chinese language learning as a second language. Your participation in this study will involve completing a confidential questionnaire that assesses language learning outcomes. Specifically, we will focus on understanding the effectiveness of AI and its influence on engagement, autonomy, motivation, and perceptions of AI in education.
We now invite all foreign students studying either Mandarin or Cantonese at any university in Hong Kong, as well as those in mainland China, Macau, or overseas, to participate in this survey. If you have experiences in learning Chinese at your university or independently, you are eligible to join.
The survey is open to all non-Chinese or international students who are 18 years of age or older. Your contribution to this research is highly valued, and we sincerely appreciate your participation. If you have any questions or require additional information, please feel free to contact Prof. Vivian Lee, the Project Principal Investigator, at 3943-8012 or vivianlee@cuhk.edu.hk, or Dr. Lee Siu Lun, Senior Lecturer for the Yale-China Chinese Language Academy (CLA), at 3943-5931 or slee@cuhk.edu.hk.
